       You have some interesting choices for the seat of the Clayton County Chairman.  The two candidates that 

are running for the seat, so far, both have tremendous name recognition in the county. The first is very well 

known. Roberta Abdul-Salaam, she has been a long time Clayton County resident and people's advocate. She

presently serves on the Clayton County Delegation in the Georgia House of Representatives.   Roberta remains

a community activist as evidenced in the situation with the Clayton County School Board.

The second candidate is the former  Clayton County Police Chief,  Jeff Turner,  who served as police chief for

a number of years. He has resided in Henry County for a number of years but presently lives in Clayton.  It

is widely believed in the community that Jeff was FORCED OUT of the position by the present Chairman and

his cronies, at the time, Singleton, Ralph, and Virgina Grey for vindictive reasons.


                                                                                                    
       These are the only two candidates that we are aware of presently. There may be more, but we are not 

aware of them.  We are not even aware if the chair is going to seek re-election. After all, this audit by the 

D.A. should prove very interesting. We are not for sure but has anyone ever found that TWENTY MILLION

DOLLARS that Chairman Bell LOST? Do you remember that? That was supposedly one of the reasons you 

don't have C-TRAN today!  If we remember correctly the Clayton County Commission wanted to fire the 

Finance Director but didn't because she had a MEMO that the chair didn't read nor did the other elected 

commissioners.  Here's a photo of the CHAIRMAN, Mr. Bell.  If we remember right Representative Salaam
